Al Ain: More scattered showers and light rain hit the country and the situation is expected to continue over the next 48 hours in different parts of the UAE as weather forecasters expect partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.

Isolated rain in Fujairah, Dubai, Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, and the Western Region over the past several days has had a pleasant impact on the daytime conditions.

Nights are cooler and people are enjoying their evenings at parks and gardens. Similar weather conditions are expected during the weekend.

Light showers fell on parts of Dubai and Sharjah yesterday morning, slowing down traffic in areas like Ras Al Khor in Dubai. Al Ain residents had been praying for the rain every day but no rain has fallen in the emirate so far.

Heavy rain was recorded in the Masafi area on Tuesday night measuring 57.6mm, followed by 36.4mm in Madinat Zayed in the western region of Abu Dhabi, 9.8mm in the neighbouring Owtaid, 5mm in Shuwaib, and 1.6mm in Abu Dhabi.

The rain was accompanied by dense clouds and low temperatures.

Cloudy conditions

Several of the UAE islands in the Arabian Gulf also received rain.

The weather is expected to be partly cloudy in the next few days, said the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).

The conditions could become cloudy today especially in the northern areas with chance of rain.

Winds are also expected to gain speed thus kicking up dust and sand in the open areas.

This might also affect visibility for motorists who have been advised to be careful while driving along highways and roads passing through the open areas. Similar conditions are expected tomorrow too.

The maximum temperature today is expected to be 32 degree Celsius in the coastal areas, 34C in the internal areas, and 24C in the mountainous areas. It will drop to 21C, 18C, and 13C, respectively at night.

Conditions could also be cloudy over different UAE Islands in the Arabian Gulf. The sea will be rough and unsuitable for small boats.
