Al Ain: Scattered rain is expected in parts of the emirates on Sunday, with forecasters expecting partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.

On Saturday, scattered drizzle and light rain hit in different parts of the country.

"There are strong chances of rain and thunder, especially over Northern and coastal areas," said a forecaster.

According to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), moderate rain on Friday gave a sigh of relief to the people living in Jebel Ali and Kalba.

Light rain was also received in Dubai, Ghantoot, Al Shoaib, and villages in Fujairah and Masafi areas.

People in Al Ain were hopeful for rain but were disappointed. The weather was, however, windy and cold in the Oasis city.

Forecasters are also not pinning much hopes for rain in Al Ain, indicating very less chances.

The NCMS also indicate a fall in temperatures in most of the country on Sunday.

Winds would be little stronger over the sea and open land areas. This could kick up dust and sand in the western areas.

The sea could be rough in general with five to eight feet high waves offshore.

Temperatures are expected to remain between 14 and 25 degrees Celsius in the coastal area, 9 degrees Celcius to 27 degrees Celcius in the interior areas, and 7 degrees Celcius and 17 degrees Celcius in the mountainous areas.
