Al Ain: Weathermen have denied the possibility of any tornado or tropical storm hitting tonight, saying that there are chances of a thunderstorm, heavy rain, and local in Dubai and some other parts of the emirates.

People need not to panic as nothing extraordinary is going to happen, said the weathermen. A rumour is swirling around that a tornado is going to hit the city later today evening. “It’s not true, it is just a thunderstorm,” said a weatherman.

The met office at Dubai International Airport has issued a weather alert asking people to be ready for a thunderstorm tonight. “It will be more or less similar to the Saturday night thunderstorm but probably be with more severity,” said a duty forecaster at the met office.

He said a there are chances of local flooding and traffic chaos but nothing more than that. “We expect it will start after 6pm anytime but no specific time can be given,” he added.
