Al Ain: Light to moderate rain fell on Tuesday afternoon in different areas, creating pleasant weather conditions.

The weather was partly cloudy in the morning across the country, becoming cloudy later in the afternoon. The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) reported rain in Dubai, Sharjah, Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi, Gayathi, Al Ruwais, and Al Ain.

A brief spell of rain forced motorists to drive carefully on Al Ain streets and highways at around 4.30pm. More rain and thunderstorms are expected on Tuesday night and tomorrow, according to the forecasters.

Unsettled weather is likely to continue until Friday morning and the NCMS has repeated its warning for seafarers, motorists, and people living in mountainous areas, wadis and low-lying areas to be alert and take precautionary measures.

“Unstable conditions are expected to intensify on Wednesday, resulting in more rain, thunder and hailstorms in some parts of the country,” said the forecasters. Rain is also expected on Thursday, especially in the northern emirates and Eastern Region.

The amount of cloud will start dissipating from Thursday night and Friday morning, with a probability of some rain in the northern emirates and Eastern Region. A significant fall in temperature is expected.

The wind will be moderate to fresh at first, becoming stronger at times, causing blowing dust and sand. Horizontal visibility will be affected in the open and inland areas. The sea will be rough over the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman but will be very rough in the presence of clouds, he said.
