Al Ain: The temperature has shot up to 45 degrees Celsius in parts of the UAE, but weather forecasters expect cloudy conditions with chances of light rain during the next couple of days.

A system of clouds and rain has been moving from Saudi Arabia towards Iran, sending some disturbances to the UAE.

The sea is expected to be rough to very rough, especially in the afternoon and night.

Strong winds have been generating high waves in the Arabian Gulf, according to the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS)

Winds are also expected to gain strength over land, kicking up dust in open areas.

The NCMS has also issued a weather alert for seafarers asking them to be cautious.

Humidity

The conditions Sunday were very hot with high humidity. Sunlight was unbearable in the open. People living in the coastal areas, however, faced more discomfort.

"We were expecting an occasional rise in cloudiness over some areas," said a forecaster at the NCMS. The weather will continue to be hot to very hot, especially in the interior desert cities.

According to the forecast for the next 48 hours, the weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy in general. The cloud cover is expected to increase on Monday.

Winds

Winds are expected to be light to moderate in general, but may raise dust at times in the open areas.

The weather forecast said there is a chance of light rain Tuesday as scattered clouds will continue to hover over skies all over the country.

The sea will be moderate in general, becoming rough at times.

Maximum temperature yesterday was between 24 and 38 degrees Celsius in the coastal areas, 23°C to 45°C in the interior areas, and 21°C to 34°C in the mountainous areas.

Similar temperatures are expected Tuesday and Wednesday.
