Forecasters expect unstable weather, advise caution
Al Ain: Forecasters expect unstable weather over the next few days and warn fishermen and motorists to exercise caution as the sea will be rough along with rainy and windy conditions across the country.
A low pressure system yesterday (Sunday) developed rapidly under the influence of a surface trough that has been affecting the country. There was scattered rain in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and some other parts of other northern and eastern areas.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) said that the weather will continue to be unstable in general on Tuesday and Wednesday. The amount of clouds will increase at times, especially over the northern and eastern areas, with a chance of rain, said a NCMS official.
Moderate to strong winds are likely to blow over the Arabian Gulf waters and some inland areas. Winds are also likely to kick up dust and sand affecting horizontal visibility on national highways. “The sea will be rough and we advise fishermen and small vessels to stay onshore,” said the forecaster.
The national weather bureau also expects a rise in temperature today (Tuesday).
A strong current of cool Shamal (north-westerly) winds is likely to hit the Arabian Gulf, making the sea rough and forcing the mercury to fall a few degrees across the country on Wednesday. The amount of clouds will, however, start to gradually decrease during the daytime.
