Woman, infant daughter killed in crash near Al Ain
A young Emirati woman and her infant daughter were killed and two others, including the woman's husband, sustained severe injuries in an accident on the Dubai-Al Ain Road.
Al Ain: A young Emirati woman and her infant daughter were killed and two others, including the woman's husband, sustained severe injuries in an accident on the Dubai-Al Ain Road.
The accident was reported at around 10.30 am on Tuesday near Al Foa'a district, the traffic police said.
Lost control
The injured man, A.M.S., 27, apparently lost control of the vehicle, which was registered in Abu Dhabi.
A traffic police official said the car suddenly veered to the right and hit fencing on the roadside. The impact of the collision coupled with the high speed at which the accident occurred threw the car off the road.
The 24-year old woman, identified as M.A.A., and her nine-month old daughter M.A.M. were declared dead on the spot.
The driver and a 25-year-old African housemaid (identified as S.K.) sustained severe injuries and have been hospitalised.
The rescue unit of the police later shifted the dead bodies and the injured to a hospital.
The police are investigating the case.
