Woman dies after being run over by pickup truck
A Filipina died on Saturday when a pickup truck drove over her in the Al Kharran area.
Ras Al Khaimah: A Filipina died on Saturday when a pickup truck drove over her in the Al Kharran area.
A senior officer at the Traffic and Licensing Department said the 55-year-old victim died under the wheels of the pickup driven by a 31-year-old Pakistani national. The maid who worked for an Emirati family was crossing the street when the accident occurred.
The officer added that the driver was not focused and did not pay attention to the traffic flow.
Medics arrived on the scene and announced the maid dead. Her body was referred to Saqr Hospital to be delivered to her family later for burial.
The Police and Public Prosecution have detained the driver.
