Unified traffic fine payment system to be introduced in UAE soon
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Interior to be part of its new initiative called the 'Unified e-link' service.
Dubai: The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Interior to be part of its new initiative called the 'Unified e-link' service.
The new service will enable motorists to pay fines related to traffic violations, parking and Salik anywhere in the UAE.
The agreement was signed by Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the RTA and Lieutenant General Saif Al Shaafar, Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior. They also held a meeting at the RTA office in Dubai to discuss issues related to the Unified e-Link of the Federal Traffic System and recovering the toll gate (Salik) offence charges from vehicles registered at Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates.
Al Tayer said the RTA would support the Ministry for the success of the Unified e-Link of the Federal Traffic System. "The agreement also enables motorists to pay parking offences in addition to the Salik fines," said Al Tayer.
Explaining the unified e-link service, Lieutenant General Al Shaafar said: "The project aims at sharing the database unifying the procedures across the UAE, and processing transactions throughout the UAE. Now motorists will be able to pay their traffic fines in any emirate," he said.
He said the Ministry is seeking to finalise this vital project as early as possible and it would formally announce its launching.
The meeting also reviewed the collection of offence tickets made under the toll gate system (Salik) and the paid parking zones used by the vehicles of the Ministry.
