Al Ain: The administration is struggling to ease traffic jams in the school zone where most of Al Ain's private schools are located.

A recent study by the Roadway, Transportation and Traffic Safety Research Centre (RTTSRC) proposed some quick solutions to the traffic chaos that unfolds every morning and afternoon on school days.

"The centre has proposed immediate short-term solutions in the study that has already been submitted to the municipality," said Dr Munjed Maraqa, an official of RTTSRC.

The study was conducted under the supervision of Dr Yaser Hawas, director of the centre, and was completed in six months, he said.

Private education zone

Almost 90 per cent of the private schools of Al Ain are concentrated in the school zone, in Al Manaseer and Al Asharaj districts.

Many of the schools have expanded and have been operating for several years.
