Dubai: A passenger was killed, a driver sustained serious injuries and four members of an Iraqi family were in critical condition, following two horrendous accidents within three hours on Sunday.
A Pakistani passenger died when his compatriot driver couldn't avoid colliding into a heavy truck that seemed to have accidentally broken down on the right lane of Emirates Road. The driver left the truck there with the hazard lights on.
The Head of Dubai Traffic Public Prosecution, Salah Bu Farousha, told Gulf News the driver sustained serious injuries.
Meanwhile, a 23-year-old Emirati man hit a vehicle on Al Hibab roundabout, critically injuring an Iraqi, his wife and two children. "The Emirati has been detained for questioning," said Bu Farousha.
