Sharjah: The Directorate of Public Works has announced that Saeed Mohammad Saeed Al Midfa Roundabout will be closed due to maintenance.

The roundabout, which a vital road leading towards Dubai and Emirates Road, is located between the areas of Al Tarfa and Al Darari.

A senior official at the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) told Gulf News that the roundabout will be temporarily closed as the department aims to increase its efficiency for motorists.

“The asphalt is being removed and we will replace it with new asphalt. We ensure residents that the road works will be completed before the new term for schools start, which is sometime before September 20,” said the DPW official.

The cost of the project is Dh1 million, and officials urged motorists to use the diverted routes that are properly equipped with signboards.
