Sharjah Municipality launches parking call service

Sharjah: The municipality here launched a Parking Call service on Mondayday that allows residents to reserve a parking space and recharge their parking account.
"Residents can now call the customer service hotline or visit the website, and they will have instant access to reserve a parking space anywhere in the city," said Abdul Rahman Al Mahmoud, manager, Transport and Freightage Department (TFD), Sharjah Municipality.
Residents can call the 24-hour customer service number at 800 833 which uses an Interactive Voice Response (IVR), or they can visit the website www.tfd.ae.
The IVR system is available in four languages - Arabic, English, Urdu and Hindi.
In order to have access to the municipality's Parking Call facilities, residents are first required to register by either visiting the municipality headquarters at Government Square, or the Transport and Freightage Department located near the New Fruit and Vegetable Market.
Registration for the Parking Call service costs Dh50 and motorists have to provide a copy of their vehicle registration card, which allows them to reserve a space, register with TFD services, as well as inquire about fines, account balance, and balance transfer.
Once residents acquire the Parking Call service, they can then subscribe to the Smart card or Family card option, which costs Dh20 each. The Smart card allows individuals to top-up their parking card, while the Family card can be issued for a maximum of three people from the same family and can also be topped up.
"By mid-June, we aim to provide top-up parking cards in all petrol stations, grocery stores and supermarkets in the emirate," said Al Mahmoud, adding that they are now only available at the TFD office and at Sharjah Municipality.
The top-up parking cards are divided into three denominations of Dh50, Dh100 and Dh200.

To L. M. of Abu Dhabi, just because you can afford the Dh1,000 for the parking doesn't warrant you to call for similar service.
