Salik users offered range of services
The RTA has strengthened its range of support services offered to Salik users, and has announced plans to link Salik accounts to a group of financial institutions to offer users more options.

Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has strengthened its range of support services offered to Salik users, and has announced plans to link Salik accounts to a group of financial institutions to offer users more options while dealing with the system.
RTA also plans to sign new agreements with several partners to enhance the convenience of Salik users.
Salik users can log on to the Salik website www.salik.ae to add credit to their Salik accounts from the convenience of their home or office.
They can also check their balance online and view the number of crossings they made through the toll gates located at Garhoud Bridge and Shaikh Zayed Road near Mall of the Emirates. They can also amend their personal data and print out financial statements.

Great to know about these features. However, I have been trying to resolve a data entry mistake for the last two months with several calls to their customer service, IT support and could not get it done even after faxes and emails. Let them first have a service level for such requests and monitor their service before providing additional services.

I have not yet got my Salik account. How will all these work efficiently when the basics are not in place?

After reading the above comments it is clear that people are getting pinched for their money. I travel every weekend to Sharjah and I have to pass through two toll gates, still I am happy because from Crowne Plaza (SZR) to Sharjah Municipality it takes only 30 minutes where before it used to take 1 hour 30 minutes, isn't that amazing? Regarding financial statements, I am not bothered because I keep track of my travel, if monetarily I am spending Dh8 then I am saving an hour which is virtually Dh100.

There is nothing extra ordinary about these services. In fact, the RTA is too late to provide them. These services should have been there from the first day.

It is really good news that the RTA is providing such services. So I hope in a couple of years the traffic also will be less, because the RTA is trying its best to help us as much as they can so I ask my brothers and sisters please try to understand and cooperate with the RTA.

Well RTA, this is not the correct way for reducing the traffic jams. I get delayed even more than before, going to my office daily. Due to that I prefer to take other routes.

Happy to read such press releases of RTA, but in reality the service provided by Salik is the worst. I?ve been trying to get one mistake of RTA corrected for last three months, but after many calls/written complaints it is still unresolved.

They are not services! They are more facilities to make it easy for RTA to rip people off by taking their money and offering nothing in return except delays, headaches, stress and road rage.

Whatever they do traffic, is not going to reduce. The travelling time on SZH road has increased after Salik.
