Abu Dhabi: The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City on Saturday announced the opening of a U-turn access at Mina Road, specifically in the area facing Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, where construction work is in progress.

The right lane that links Mina Road with Corniche Road near Capital Hotel has also been opened to traffic, according to the municipality.

These measures are in line with the municipality's efforts to facilitate the completion of Al Salam Street Project and make it easier for those affected by the construction work.

The U-turn will facilitate the movement of traffic along the Tourist Club area and allow vehicles to make a turn along Mina Road instead of at the traffic signal near Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.

On the other hand, the right lane in the area that links Mina with Corniche Road will allow vehicles coming from Mina to reach Corniche from the route near Capital hotel.

The Municipality had recently completed the installation works and operation procedures of a number of modern elevators at some pedestrian bridges in the main traffic detour areas on Al Salam Street, specifically within the Tourist Club zone near the city centre.

Elevators were installed on three pedestrian bridges. The first is near Le Meridian Hotel, the second is on Road No. 10 between Hamdan Street and Mina Road and the third is near Abu Dhabi Mall.
