More than 26,000 fines during Eid

Dubai: The traffic department issued more than 26,000 traffic fines and confiscated 138 cars for offences during the Eid Al Adha holidays.

Brigadier Mohammad Saif Al Zafein, director of the department, said traffic patrols and traffic control teams issued 26,937 traffic offences, while radars caught 17,057 speeding offences during the five days.

He said intensive presence of traffic patrols and the good preparation for the event contributed to increased road safety and reduced irresponsible behaviours.
