Ministry to launch awareness campaign to ensure safety

Latest effort will feature seminars and internet chat-room sessions

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Interior is launching its fourth traffic awareness campaign for 2011 under the slogan ‘beware passing the traffic light'.

To raise awareness about traffic rules and violations in addition to addressing rising concerns about driving safety, police officers will conduct seminars and speak about the issue on various platforms including internet chat rooms, in addition to distributing leaflets, brochures and posters.

It will be implemented in partnership with the Departments of Traffic and Patrols, the Ministries of Public Works, Culture, Youth and Community Development, Emirates Transport, the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai, Emirates Driving Club, the Emirates Automobile and Touring Club, the Central Bank and the Federal Electricity and Abu Dhabi Distribution Company.
