Dubai: Car parking will be free in the paid parking zones in Dubai and Sharjah from December 2 to December 5 due to the National Day and the Hijri year (Islamic new year) holidays.
However, parking fee will not be exempted in the Deira Fish Market.
Residency offices to stay open
Meanwhile, the Dubai General Department for Residency and Foreigners Affairs will continue to operate during the National Day and Islamic new year holiday. Major General Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, Director General of the department, said working hours will be from 9am to 1pm on both Thursday and Sunday.
The department will provide services in Jafiliya, and other offices in Shaikh Zayed Road, Jebel Ali, Dnata, Dubai International Airport Free Zone and Bin Sougat Mall.
Postal services only at main centres
Only main post offices will be open on December 2 on National Day and December 5 on Hijri New Year.
The following main post offices will be open from 9am to 1pm only on the above two days: Abu Dhabi Central Post Office and Hamdan Post Office; Dubai Central Post Office and Al Khor Post Office; Sharjah Central Post Office, Ajman Central Post Office, Ghuwair Post Office, Umm Al Quwain Industrial Post Office; Ras Al Khaimah Post Office, Al Uraibi Post Office, Fujairah Central Post Office, Khor Fakkan Post Office and Al Ain Central Post Office.
