Ajman: The Ajman Municipality will activate paid parking on Shaikh Khalifa Street from June 23.
The move comes as the second phase of the Parking Plan 2010 initiated by Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman.
Engineer Omar Bin Omair, Director of General Services Department of the Municipality and Planning Department, said the department is working to regulate use of parking in the emirate in a way that serves the general public and raises the effectiveness of parking spaces for users.
Paid parking in Ajman starts from 8am to 1pm and from 5pm to 9pm from Saturday to Thursday. The parking fee for one hour is Dh2 during day time and Dh1 for evening time.
Bin Omair added that the department's role is not limited only to place parking fees, but to provide new services to residents of the emirate.
