Abu Dhabi’s iconic Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque has been named among the world’s most talked about attractions, Trip Advisor, a leading travel site, has announced recently.
“To be included in a list of the most renowned attractions in the world and to reach a great number of visitors is a significant recognition and we will work constantly to offer our guests a unique insight into the arts, architecture and local culture,” said Yousuf Al Obaidly, director of the Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre (SZGMC).
Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which welcomed over 4 million visitors and worshippers in the previous year, rated number one on the list of ‘Things to do’ in the capital.
“A vision that would last a lifetime,” said one user in the Trip Advisor, which scored over 1,000 top-ranked reviews.
“Thirty years of travel, it was the most beautiful building I have ever seen,” another user added.

In addition to the comprehensive visitor programmes, the SZGMC offers several activities which support cross-cultural communication such as Spaces of Light, an annual photography competition.
In order to facilitate the experience of both visitors and worshippers alike and ensure a comfortable cultural atmosphere, complimentary tours by UAE professional guides will be held daily.
Visiting hours
• The Shaikh Zayed Grand Mosque opens daily to visitors, except on Friday morning, which is for worshippers only.
• Complimentary one hour guided tours run from Sunday to Thursday at 10am, 11am and 4:30pm/5pm.
• Friday timings are at 4:30pm/5pm, 7:30pm/8pm
, Saturday timings are at 10am, 11am, 2pm, 4:30pm/5pm, 7:30pm/8pm
