Dubai: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is all set to take part in the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans 2014) in Berlin.

A delegation led by Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of RTA, is visiting the fair to be held between September 23 and 26.

One of the largest trade fairs of its kind, InnoTrans 2014 will see participation of 2,700 firms from 51 countries.

Al Tayer will be the keynote speaker in the Rail Leaders’ Summit which will be attended by presidents of firms, businessmen and representatives of specialist firms in the transport industry as well as mass transport system experts from all over the globe.

Al Tayer will be accompanied by a delegation comprising RTA board member Mohammad Obaid Al Mulla, CEO of RTA Rail Agency Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, and a host of directors.

Al Tayer said that the congress and the international trade fair for transport technology, which is held biennially, is particularly important as it sets a platform for transport and rail industry specialists to gather and showcase the latest technologies in the infrastructure of rail and tunnel networks, interior designs of trains and public transport buses, and entertainment systems in mass transit facilities.

The previous edition of the fair, which was held in 2012, attracted 2,515 firms from 49 countries, and more than 120,000 visitors hailing from 140 countries.
