Dubai: Top-ups for Nol cards and Salik will be among 170 online services to be launched on mobile platforms by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) over the next 12 months, the authority has announced.

The plan is part of the Smart Government initiative launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Work on the mega project has begun and the services will be released in five phases until May 2015.

The RTA recently updated its mobile app by adding nine services to its existing 23, taking the number of existing RTA mobile services to 32.

According to Ahmad Hashem Behroozian, CEO of the RTA’s Licensing Agency, the new services will be added to RTA mobile apps every month — leading to 200 by mid-2015.
