Police urge public to identify dead cyclist

Traffic collision victim had no identification documents

Dubai: Dubai Police have urged the public to come forward and identify an Asian man who died after he was knocked down and killed in a traffic accident. Colonel Yousuf Al Udaidi, deputy director of Rashidiya police station, said the deceased man was believed to have been travelling by bicycle with a companion on June 16 when he was hit by a car.

The victim was taken to hospital but passed away on July 16. “There were no identification documents found in his possession but we suspect that he was Indian. The body was transferred to the forensic department to determine the cause of death, and nobody has claimed the body yet,” said Col Al Udaidi.

Residents with any information on the victim’s identify should notify Dubai Police at the control room 04-6095555, or Rashidya police station at 04-2853000.
