Abu Dhabi: Over the past three years, the Abu Dhabi Police have managed to reduce the number of traffic accidents resulting in injuries and deaths, the police announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Since 2010, traffic accidents causing human injuries decreased by 33 per cent while deaths due to traffic accidents were reduced by 34 per cent. Major injuries have been cut down by 25 per cent with the death rate per 100,000 persons down by 35 per cent.

Meanwhile, the implementation of smart traffic systems and use of artificial intelligence will help control the city’s roads in the future, the statement said.
