Dubai: One person died and three were injured in an accident involving two vehicles on the Dubai Mall bridge in the Al Khail road direction on Thursday morning.
Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of Dubai Traffic Police, said that preliminary investigations at the scene of the accident showed that an Emirati driving a large sedan was speeding when he lost control and swerved to the right, hitting the minibus from behind.
After colliding with the bus, the car smashed into the median, while the minibus veered out of control and flipped.
The accident took place at around 11am.
The driver of the minibus succumbed to severe injuries while two of his passengers sustained injuries.
The car driver also sustained severe injures. The injured men were taken to hospital.
Col Al Mazroui appealed to motorists to always abide by traffic rules and regulations for their own safety and for the safety of others.
