Sharjah: A 39-year-old man died in the early hours of Thursday morning after his speeding car crashed into a parked truck.
The truck was parked off Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road near Al Hamriyah free zone 2.
Police said the victim, who was from the Comoros islands, lost control and his car careered off the road. The victim died on the spot due to the impact of the crash.
Sharjah Police’s operations room received information about the accident at midnight and police patrols and an ambulance attended the scene.
The victim was transferred to Khalifa Hospital morgue and later his body was handed over to his family for burial.
Sharjah Police renewed its call to motorists to abide by traffic rules and pay attention to the road for their own and other people’s safety.
