Dh40.5m road project to serve new Al Sayouh residential area

Internal road network planned to connect it to Maliha

Sharjah: A road project is currently under construction in the Al Sayouh area near Sharjah International Airport which will serve a new residential area that is expected to be completed by January next year.

The construction of a new residential area was made under the directives of His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Sulaiman Al Hajiri, Director-General of the Road Department of the Sharjah Public Works Department, said that the Dh40.5 million project started nearly a month ago.

"The project is scheduled to be completed by the middle of January next year, which includes construction of single roads in the area of Al Sayouh for a total length of 27.5km," said Al Hajri.

"We will also focus our efforts on creating an internal road network that will connect the new residential area to Maliha, which will accommodate the increasing flow of traffic in that area," he said.

The Al Sayouh area has four residential projects coming up soon.

Connectivity

The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) will undertake a Dh125 million connectivity project to meet the expected surge in demand for utility services in the area.

An official at Sewa said that thef connecting of the electricity and water supply will be carried out in two phases, with the cost of water connections amounting to Dh35 million.
