Dubai: As a part of the DSF’s event schedule, Dubai’s Weight Loss Show kicked off on Friday at the International Marine Club in Mina Seyahi with more than 50 exhibitors covering every angle of health and weight loss.

Weight Loss Show draws large crowd on its first day
The two-day event is expected to attract 15,000 visitors before it wraps up at Dubai International Marine Club

The two-day health event included fitness professionals, who shared their expertise with visitors on nutrition, exercise, and weight loss.
“The objective of the event is to educate the people about health and exercise all under one roof,” said Niousha Ehsan, director of the Weight Loss Show.
With many people living under misconceptions when it comes to losing weight and eating healthily, Ehsan said that an event like this is necessary to spread awareness and encourage people to lead a healthier life.
“The event is free of charge and includes free consultation to answer all the questions people have in order to clarify the misconception about what is healthy,” she said.
In its fourth year, the event is expected to draw 15,000 visitors this year compared to the 6,000 people who took in last year’s show, Ehsan said,
Along with the exhibition, the event also includes a number of seminars over two days discussing health topics such as alternative approaches to weight loss, the importance of a low-sodium diet and the dilemma of buying organic food. Other seminars are also scheduled to include exercise-related topics that discuss the best ways to lose body fat and manage stress.
Fitness stage
With the fitness stage set up in the centre of the exhibition, visitors were also encouraged to participate in different exercise sessions every hour led by professional trainers. The sessions included TRX, yoga demonstrations, 10-minute abs exercises and Zumba cardio, among several others.
“The main point of the fitness stage is for people to try out different exercises so they can figure out what they enjoy best,” said Ehsan.
The event included a children’s zone to help keep children entertained with games and activities.
