Tobacco ban to be enforced in phases
From May 31, smoking has been prohibited in all the government and other public establishments. From September 15, smoking will be regulated in shopping malls and amusement centres.

Dubai: The Dubai Municipality has drawn up a timetable to enforce smoking ban.
From May 31, smoking has been prohibited in all the government and other public establishments. From September 15, smoking will be regulated in shopping malls and amusement centres.
From November 15, smoking will be regulated in all food establishments and others such as beauty salons, hotels and cinemas.
From 2008, fines will be imposed on violators according to Local Order No 11 of 2003 pertaining to protecting public health and the environment.
