Abu Dhabi: Nine new clinics will be opened for the public in Abu Dhabi in the last quarter of 2012, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (Seha) announced in a statement Thursday.

They are expected to serve a total of about 100,000 patients in urban areas, and nearly 40,000 patients in rural areas, on a yearly basis, the statement added.

Five of these Seha ambulatory clinics are already under construction on the suburbs of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, including in Al Shamkha, Al Hili, Oud Al Tawbah, Mohammed bin Zayed City and Al Yahar.

Construction on the four other clinics – to be located in Al Shahama, Al Zafarana, Suweihan and Al Haiyir, is also expected to start soon.

Saif Al Hameli, chief of facilities and construction at Seha, said that the clinics would be equipped with the latest treatment facilities and equipment once finished.

“At Seha, we have witnessed rising demand at our present healthcare facilities, and are currently setting up new facilities,” Al Hameli said.

According to the statement, each clinic will offer dental treatment, family medicine, maternal and child healthcare, emergency services, and medical diagnostic imaging. Their locations were chosen based on population density and medical demand within the emirate, the Seha statement said.
