Dubai: The first and only fully dedicated eye speciality centre in Ras Al Khaimah was opened yesterday.

The facility iins equipped with the latest eye-care technologies and surgical platforms, dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of all eye-related problems.

The centre was formally inaugurated by His Highness Shaikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, in the presence of VIPs, senior officials from Arabian Healthcare Group and Ras Al Khaimah Hospital.

The RAK Eye Care Centre works on the prevention of blindness and offers comprehensive patient care, sight enhancement and rehabilitation services along with high-impact eye health programme.

“The centre will use the most recent and ultra modern machinery to ensure the delivery of world-class patient care,” Raza Seddiqi, CEO Arabian Healthcare Group and Executive Director of RAK Hospital, said at the opening ceremony.

Siddiqi said that in the past, RAK residents needed to go out of the emirate to seek eye-related treatment but the launch of the speciality centre has brought the most advanced treatments in the region to people’s doorstep.

“Prevention, early diagnosis, and cost-effective management of eye disorders are of paramount importance in the UAE and the GCC region,” Seddiqi said, “We are excited to provide high quality cost-effective eye care diagnosis and treatment, covering all areas of eye care.”

The centre aims to transform eye care service standards, providing safe and high quality ophthalmic services. RAK Eye Care Centre offers a wide range of procedures and services including cataract surgery, refractive surgery including Lasik corrections, glaucoma, vitreo retinal surgeries, and other advanced treatment techniques necessary for eye care.

“Committed to providing professional diagnosis and treatment to patient’s eye care needs,” Seddiqi said, “the centre empowers the ophthalmologists to deliver and ensure better care for patients by providing superior surgical platforms and technology confirming to highest safety standards.”
