Dubai: The Municipality on Monday announced that it will open a new clinic at Warsan area to cater to the increasing number of customers visiting its public health services department for health cards and other medical services annually.

Zuhoor Al Zabbagh, director of the public health department, said: “We would like to minimise rush and accommodate more customers. The new clinic will be ready by end of this year, we hope,” she said regarding the set-up of the new clinic.

“We have issued 207,852 occupational health cards in 2011, and until 197,003 cards have been issued until October. We expect more increase in numbers in the coming years,” she said.

While talking about the penalties for not issuing health cards on time, she said that 16,109 penalties were recorded in 2001, while in 2012, the numbers went up to 14,972.
