Ministry shuts down five pharmacies in UAE for violating rules
The Ministry of Health has closed five pharmacies in the UAE for repeated rule violations.
Dubai: The Ministry of Health has closed five pharmacies in the UAE for repeated rule violations.
Dr Amin Bin Hussain Al Amiri, Executive Director of Medical Practice and Licensing and Chairman of the Pharmaceutical Licensing Committee at the ministry, said these violations included the employment of non-licenced pharmacists and allowing administrators to work as pharmacists in the absence of the pharmacist in-charge.
They also failed to keep controlled drugs in locked cabinets and violated other regulations concerning pharmaceutical work.
Al Amiri said these violations negatively affect public health and can cause serious harm to patients taking medicines.
Al Amiri urged public to be careful when buying medicines and to check for information about the drug.
He said the ministry monitors all pharmacies and carries regular inspections to ensure that all rules are followed.
