Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and Acting Minister of Health, said on Monday that the ministry works hard to employ UAE nationals in all fields and continue their training in health and medical fields through cooperation with UAE higher education institutions.
In a memorandum of understanding signed between the ministry and the Absher initiative, 3,000 Emiratis will be enrolled in public and private sectors. The ministry will ensure that graduates in health science are trained.
The agreement also provides facilities for Emiratis in the private sector as they are a main strategic partner in the country’s development process.
The initiative was launched in May 2012 by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to boost the number of UAE nationals working in the private sector.
The initiative has four pillars — creating jobs, training and rehabilitating an Emirati workforce, hiring them in the private sector and developing the role of the private sector in the country.
The Absher initiative aims to hire 20,000 Emiratis in the private sector within five years.
