Sharjah Police are investigating the death of a man who drowned in a hotel swimming pool in Sharjah on Tuesday evening, Gulf News can reveal.

The incident happened at 3.27pm at the open-air pool in the Marbella resort at Khalid Lagoon, a popular spot among families in Sharjah.

According to Sharjah Police, the victim, identified as K.A.H., a 36-year-old from Abu Dhabi, checked into the hotel along with his family to spend the Eid holiday in Sharjah.

The man worked at Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi.

As soon as police were alerted, officers and an ambulance were sent to the scene.

Paramedics tried to revive the victim and pumped out water from his body but the man died.

The body has been sent to a forensic laboratory for an autopsy, officials said
