Special consultations at RAK Hospital allow for personalised health guidance
Ras Al Khaimah: Fasting during Ramadan can be a rigorous routine to implement and it helps to get guidance from a nutritionist.
Free advice on individual nutritional and diet requirements is being made available to people throughout Ramadan by the RAK Hospital.
If you need special consultation on how to observe your fast, the kind of food groups to include to keep blood sugar steady, the amount of water and liquids to stay hydrated from suhour to iftaar, all you need is to consult the dietician at the hospital venue.
Fasting at a time of the year when temperatures are soaring can cause health issues such as headaches, heartburn and dehydration and hence it is very important to consult a nutritionist to remain fit when fasting, says Alice Mohan, the nutritionist at RAK Hospital.
She added that it is important for pregnant and lactating mothers, very young children, the elderly, and those with hypertension to consult their GP while fasting during Ramadan.
