Fujairah Municipality closes-down 27 food outlets in August

Fujairah: The monthly inspection by Fujairah Municipality's Health and Safety Department resulted last month in the shutting-down of 27 food outlets, it was revealed.
In a published August report, municipality inspectors also revealed that 44 outlets received penalty fines and another 62 were handed a written warning, as to their conduct.
Officials carried out a total of 125 rounds of inspections which covered 4187 food outlets as well as 408 non-food selling outlets.
The report by the Health and Safety Department also revealed that a cargo of 150 kilograms of frozen fish stock was seized at Fujairah airport.
The fish stock arrived from Somalia and was deemed in breach of health and safety food regulations.
