Al Ain: The Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS), a part of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), has announced to provide free transportation to people availing visa screening services at its Disease Prevention and Screening Centre in Al Ain.

Service launched in response to patients’ requests from Al Qua and Al Wagan

The service has been lunched in response to the patients’ requests from Al Qua and Al Wagan areas that are 10-15km apart and located some 140km away from the Al Ain centre, said an AHS spokesperson.
Available on first come serve basis, he said, the shuttle will leave from the AHS Healthcare Centres in Al Qua at 7.15am and from Al Wagan at 8.00am. Visa screening services are offered from Sunday to Thursday from 7.00am to 3.00pm at the AHS centre in Al Jimi district of Al Ain.
Mohammad Hawas Al Sadid, Acting Director of Disease Prevention and Screening Centres of the AHS, said the complimentary transport service had been launched following a study. “We are confident the introduction of the service will ease the effort of travelling to the centre,” he said.
The centre offers specialised services in the prevention and screening of communicable diseases, said Al Sadid, adding that it also provides premarital screening and counselling, pre-employment screening, occupational health, travel health, and disease control management services.
Expatriate residents of the UAE are required to undergo medical screening for communicable diseases on arrival in the country as part of the resident visa application process. A fee of Dh350 is charged for female private drivers and domestic servants, Dh300 for private drivers, nursery workers, food handlers, domestic servants, laundry workers, hairdressers, barbers and gym workers, and Dh250 for other categories of employees.
Documents required to process the medical clearance include photocopy of the first page of the passport and valid visa or entry permit, original passport and Emirates ID card. For further enquiries, people can contact the Ambulatory Healthcare Services call centre on 800-2247.
