Dubai: In order to provide the health-care sector with a comprehensive record of health-care services available in the Gulf region, the Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the Executive Board of the GCC Health Ministers’ Council, launched the fifth issue of the Gulf Health Directory 2015.

The event was held under the patronage of Abdul Rahman Al Owais, UAE Minister of Health, and Dr Tawfik Bin Ahmad Khoja, Director-General of the Executive Board of the GCC Health Ministers Council. Dr Ameen Hussain Al Ameri, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Policy and License sector of the Ministry of Health, told Gulf News: “The Ministry of Health has been collaborating on this project since 2007 and this is the fifth edition of the directory. It is a comprehensive list of all government and private hospitals in the GCC and provides the health-care sector with names, locations and complete addresses of the hospitals facilitating their work.”

The 200-plus pages of the Gulf Health directory 2015 has Roche Diagnostics Middle East as its main sponsor and is published by the Gulf Media and Publishing Group. Providing information on the special highlights in the latest directory, Lotfi Khelifi, Managing Director of the publishing group, said: “This year’s directory includes the health sector of Jordan and has at least 30 per cent more data than previous years.”

Mortiz P. Hartmann, General Manager of Roche Diagnostics Middle East, said: “The region has been undergoing tremendous advances in medical care … and this directory will be a valuable reference for the health-care sector.”
