Dubai: Latifa Hospital on Thursday received a donation of more than Dh5 million from Al Tayer Group for the purchase of medical equipment.

Latifa is one of five hospitals under the Dubai Health Authority (DHA).

The donation was made after an agreement was signed by Ahmad Humaid Al Tayer, director of Al Tayer Group and Eisa Al Maidour, director-general of the DHA.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr Muna Tahlak, CEO of Latifa Hospital and senior officials.

Al Tayer highlighted the importance of the humanitarian role played by the DHA.

“We, at Al Tayer Group, are delighted to contribute in serving the community of UAE by supporting its humanitarian services such as health, education and social affairs,” he said. “We do so by strengthening values of compassion, solidarity and cooperation between sons of the community and participating with the Public Sector to support programs of economic and social development.”

Al Maidour said this agreement reflects the cooperation between the private and public sector.

“We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Al Tayer group,” he said. “At the DHA, it is our aim to provide our patients with the best of facilities and high quality medical care. Such contributions help support the Authority’s plans and directly contribute to the betterment of the health sector.”
