Dubai: Emirati child prodigy Adeeb Al Beloushi will travel to seven countries in America and Europe over the coming months and meet cutting-edge scientists.

Based on the order of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Al Beloushi, along with his family, will visit the US, France, UK, Ireland, Germany, Italy and Belgium, on a sponsored scientific trip to attend conferences and workshops.
As per Shaikh Hamdan’s order, Al Beloushi’s tour was scheduled so as not to affect his attendance at school but instead, act as an incentive to boost his confidence and encourage his interest in science.

Shaikh Hamdan has entrusted the Emirates Institution for Advanced Science and Technology (EIAST) to follow up Al Beloushi’s development and assessment.

Gulf News earlier reported that nine-year-old Al Beloushi was awarded a certificate of appreciation by Dubai Municipality in April 2013 for his inventions of a car seat belt heart monitor, a cleaning robot and lightweight prosthetic limbs. His heart monitor, embedded in the seat belt system, can wirelessly beam health alerts to first responders. He has also invented a fireproof helmet with a camera system to help see in emergencies.

Speaking at an event earlier, he explained he started inventing after seeing his father in discomfort.

Making life easier

“I always think how to help needy people to make their life easier with the help of new technology. I started thinking of making a lightweight artificial leg supporter as my father is a victim of polio and was suffering due to a heavy artificial leg.”

He added his father, a 43-year-old businessman, would take off the apparatus before swimming.

The first stop for the young schoolgoer will be Brussels, Belgium, where he will attend the Green Carbon Conference, which starts on April 1, under the theme “Making Sustainable Agriculture Real.”

The next stop on Al Beloushi’s tour will be Laval, France where he will attend the Virtual, Augmented and Robotic Humans (VARH) conference; a field in which he proudly managed to invent a lightweight prosthetic apparatus for his father. He will then travel to Munich, Germany to attend a workshop for medical apparatus.
