UAE Vice-President receives German health minister

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday received at the Dubai Medical City Ulla Schmidt, German Health Minister, and her entourage.

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday received at the Dubai Medical City Ulla Schmidt, German Health Minister, and her entourage.

They discussed medical and health cooperation between the UAE and Germany and ways of expanding these ties to include training, joint scientific and medical research and exchange of expertise, particularly in specialised areas like cancer and diabetes.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed support for boosting contact and cooperation between the two sides. He said the UAE can benefit from Germany's advanced experience, just as Germany can also benefit from the UAE's experience in many development projects. He also expressed his support for any kind of cooperation between the UAE Ministry of Health and its German counterpart.

The German Minister praised the cooperation between the two countries. She said the German government was keen on improving cooperation between the countries.

Present at the meeting were a number of senior officials.
