Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the delivery of urgent aid to the people of Gaza Strip, who are currently being subjected to continuous Israeli aggression.
The urgent relief aid is to be delivered by the Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation in collaboration with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
In line with directives of the President, the UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA) will implement a humanitarian programme to offer support to the people of Gaza.
Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the RCA, ordered the setting up of an emergency committee to follow up the developments in Gaza, answer humanitarian calls and coordinate programmes and aid operations with international organisations.
Dr Ali Bin Abdullah Al Ka'abi, Chairman of the Board of RCA, said the authority is coordinating with UNRWA, the Red Cross, Unicef, World Food Organisation, World Health Organisation and other humanitarian organisations working in Palestine, to offer the best humanitarian services for people affected in Gaza.
The RCA will supply medicines, food packages and shelter.
