UAE-Pakistan ministers' meeting confirms strong ties

The discussions focused on ways to further enhance economic and commercial ties

Abu Dhabi: The meeting between the UAE and Pakistani Foreign Ministers confirmed the continued strong alliance and cooperation between the two countries.

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Hina Rabbani Khar, Foreign Minister of Pakistan, met on Monday in the 10th session of the Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).

The discussions focused on ways to further enhance economic and commercial ties between the two countries. Among the objectives of the event is also Pakistan's aim for garnering support as they negotiate a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the GCC. 

The meeting also addressed the exchange and safety of human labour. The UAE remains one of Pakistan's major countries for employment. The country is home to about 1.2 million employed Pakistanis.
