Abu Dhabi: The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Labour, will participate in the 317th Session of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Governing Body, being held at the ILO headquarters in Geneva.

Mubarak Saeed Al Daheri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour and head of the UAE delegation, said that since the UAE joined the Board of Directors of ILO in June 2011, it has been keen to participate effectively so as to boost the country’s stature in the organisation.

He added that the agenda includes a number of themes which will emphasise the UAE’s keenness on implementation of the policies, legislation and monitoring tools, which aim to regulate the labour market and boost participation of national manpower in the private sector, in addition to creation of balance in the working relationships through protecting temporary labour rights and safeguarding employers’ interests as well.
