Al Ain: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that the UAE’s successful foreign policy is one of the country’s most prominent achievements, which is based on balanced and moderate political foundations that the UAE has adopted since its establishment towards Arab and international issues.
Shaikh Khalifa said that this has earned the UAE appreciation in international venues.
Shaikh Khalifa made the statement as he received at Al Rawda Palace UAE ambassadors, nation’s representatives to regional and international organisations, and senior Armed Forces and police officials who came to greet the President on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was present.
Shaikh Khalifa said that the UAE ambassadors play the important role of strengthening the UAE’s relations with friendly and brotherly countries, and enhancing its standing in international venues.
Shaikh Khalifa urged the ambassadors to continue to be admirable models and reflections of the UAE’s achievements in various fields.
Shaikh Khalifa also instructed the ambassadors to interact positively and qualitatively develop the UAE’s relations with other countries. He said that this places an additional burden on the shoulders of the ambassadors, and further increases their responsibilities to follow these objectives to further strengthen relations with other countries, open up additional channels of communication, as well as to create new opportunities for joint cooperation.
Shaikh Khalifa also told the ambassadors to study the experience of countries, and to be bridges of communication with different cultures. He also urged them to convey the UAE heritage and culture to people of other countries, and to create new methods and initiatives to interact with people around the world to enhance cultural and humanitarian cooperation and promoting a culture of tolerance and moderation.
The President also stressed on the important role played by diplomatic corps in assisting UAE citizens abroad, reminding them that the UAE citizen is the real asset and target of any development and is given the top priority in development plans and programmes.
Shaikh Khalifa wished the ambassadors success in their duties, and urged them to strive towards harnessing their capabilities to ensure the comfort of UAE citizens.
The ambassadors expressed their happiness in meeting Shaikh Khalifa, and said that such meetings organised by Shaikh Khalifa on an annual basis is a key motivation in exerting even more efforts to serve the UAE and its people.
They also wished Shaikh Khalifa good health to continue the UAE’s march of progress and prosperity under his wise leadership.
Present during the meeting were Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, and other Shaikhs and senior officials.
