Abu Dhabi: The Federal National Council (FNC) sought an increase of Dh52 million in its budget to raise members' salaries and meet other expenses.

The Government agreed to the request and increased the FNC budget to Dh132 million from Dh80 million, to cover a Dh12 million raise in remunerations and to set up offices for FNC members across the UAE.

Khalifa Abdullah Bin Howaidin, a FNC member from Sharjah, told Gulf News that the funds will help double the members' monthly remuneration to Dh50,000.
