Dubai: The UAE has declared Sunday, March 8, a holiday for the public sector to mark the birthday of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

According to a circular issued by Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Health, the public sector will get a one-day holiday on March 8 to celebrate Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) birthday.

All federal ministries, public departments and institutions will enjoy a long weekend.

Al Qutami seized the opportunity to congratulate President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the glorious occasion.

He also congratulated Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates as well as both the Arab and Muslim nations on the occasion.
