Abu Dhabi: Hemayati, a new free smartphone app designed to let parents keep tabs on their children, has been launched on the Apple store by the Ministry of Interior’s Child Protection Centre.

Hemayati (Arabic for ‘my protection’) allows parents to maintain real time communication with their children. It also provided real time information on where they are. The app also offers safety and emergency alerts.

The app also provides answers to typical child safety questions that new parents may have.

Hemayati is already available on Google Play Store for Android smartphones and tablets.

Major General Nasser Lakhrebani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and chairman of the Higher Committee on Child Protection, emphasised that initiatives like these are aimed at making UAE the world’s safest place by aiming to respond to emergency calls in four minutes.
