Sharjah: His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has donated $2 million for the renovation of the Faculty of Engineering building at Cairo University.

The donation will also be used for the purchase of all necessary supplies and equipment required by the faculty. The renovation works aim to repair damage inflicted on the faculty building during recent clashes.

Dr Shaikh Sultan also ordered the construction of a number of mosques in villages located in the border town of Rafah, north of Sinai. The mosques will be named after the martyrs who died in Rafah in the recent act of terrorism that led to the death of 25 Egyptian officers. Every mosque will be named after a martyr and constructed in their respective hometowns and villages.

Dr Shaikh Sultan also issued directives for rebuilding 18 shanty houses in Giza. The new houses will be on a par with modern standards to replace the current shanty houses, and will be distributed on their completion to residents. Dr Shaikh Sultan also ordered carrying out development work in public parks to improve the area’s infrastructure and help provide a dignified life for Egyptians.
